As a Splunk back-end specialist you are responsible for deploying/developing new and existing Splunk platforms. You will be part of a project team which is driving the implementation of Splunk as an analytics solution for the R&D IT department.
Your main activities will be:
Advise on Splunk platform changes keeping in mind availability, security and performance
Draft/update technical design documentation
Deployment of additional Splunk components (both OS and Splunk Software) such as indexers, search heads and heavy forwarders
Migrating developed Splunk apps from test/acceptance environments to production
Additional data onboarding
Requested Skills:
Proven knowledge and experience in setting up and maintaining the following:
Reverse web-proxying & load-balancing with NGINX
RedHat Linux Server OS
AWS IaaS hosting
Splunk Heavy forwarders, indexers & search heads in a scale-out set-up
At least five years of working experience
Experience in large-scale geo-distributed IT infrastructure (5000+ servers) is a pre
Experience with Ansible (Tower) is a big pre, as it is being used as the deployment automation mechanism for the Splunk environment
Knowledge & experience with Splunk ITSI & developing custom Splunk ITSI apps for service monitoring is a big pre
Experienced in working in an Agile managed project environment

Strong communication skills and ability to manage and prioritize requirements
Team player, also works well with people that have a different (technical) background
Focus on the end-goal
Not too formal, with a sense of humor
